Naturalistic Planting.

Forb’s Concept, Planting Design and Implementation changed an overgrown, weedy area into a calming naturalistic space that supports local biodiversity.

Objective.

To change a communal area previously overrun with invasive grasses, brambles, bind weed and ground elder into one that supports wider biodiversity and is attractive.

Forb Solution.

Recycled stepping stones provide functional pathways, places to sit and structures the planting zones. Planting Design includes all plant types to build layers for different wildlife. Incorporates edibles and ornamentals, micro-ponds, decomposing logs and varies food and habitat sources. Intentionally left to develop with minimal maintenance, which is restricted to editing of the more competitive plants.

Outcomes.

A life affirming space for people and the hedgehogs, bat, bird, insect, amphibian and soil organisms that live here or come to feast.
