Front Garden Planting.

Forb’s Concept, Planting Design and Implementation provided structure and cohesion to this front garden, enhancing the mature specimens by editing existing and adding new planting.

Objective.

This front garden had mature planting that was too close and large gaps from earlier removal of trees, so needed reorganisation.

Forb Solution.

A stepping stone path using left over setts from previous work (no additional cost) organises the space, providing delightful views through to the gorgeous Acer, whilst making maintenance easier. Shrubs were relocated to reduce overcrowding, canopies were lifted to create space for underplanting, a restrained selection of hard working grasses, herbaceous perennials, climbers and evergreens were added.

Outcomes.

The garden is now much more cohesive. The large specimens are shown to their best effect whilst smaller planting fills gaps and provides interest throughout the year. It’s now possible to walk through, opening up different views, making maintenance easier and protecting the soil.
